Figurative Canvases
I wanted to elevate the beer mat from being just a piece of cardboard to something valuable. Therefore, I embedded the beer mats into three dimensional canvases of ash wood.
I laser-engraved a filigree biomorphic structure onto the surface, that offers the viewer the opportunity to explore the pattern. The playful canvas itself surrounds the geometric cut out circles with organic lines, cracks and differences in color.
